How ReCube Brought a New Standard of Sustainability to a Traditional Poon Choi Banquet
The annual Poon Choi Banquet hosted by the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups (HKFYG) is a major community event, bringing together thousands of participants to celebrate traditional festivals. However, while upholding this community spirit, the event faced a significant environmental challenge: the massive waste generated by single-use tableware.
Serving thousands of people traditionally meant using thousands of single-use bowls, cups, and cutlery, all destined for the landfill after just one use. Therefore, HKFYG sought a sustainable solution that would be both environmentally friendly and convenient, without compromising the event’s hygiene standards or festive atmosphere.
eCube provided a comprehensive and convenient reusable tableware rental solution for this large-scale banquet.
We supplied all participants with durable, food-grade reusable bowls, cups, and cutlery. Our bowls were specifically suited for serving the various hot dishes found in Poon Choi. ReCube handled all logistics, delivering the cleaned tableware to the venue before the event and collecting the used items afterward. All collected tableware was then transported to our professional washing facility for high-temperature cleaning and sanitization, a process that fully complies with strict food safety standards.
A high adoption rate of 98% among participants.

我們沒有將這視為兩個獨立的挑戰，而是看到了一個整合的解決方案。ReCube 與匡智會建立了策略性合作夥伴關係，共同創建了一個專業級的清洗工場。我們攜手合作，設計了一個專門為匡智會學員度身訂造的清洗工場及結構化工作流程。整個過程被分解為清晰、易於管理的步驟，讓學員能夠自信而自豪地掌握自己的崗位。這段合作關係並非慈善，而是創造就業。我們提供了長期而穩定的工作崗位。ReCube 提供持續的工作量（回收的餐具），而匡智會則提供專業的勞動力。此模式更獲得了無綫電視 **TVB《新聞透視》**的專題報導，印證了其在社會及營運層面的重要性。它為匡智會學員提供了職業培訓、穩定收入，並讓他們作為香港最矚目的環保項目之一的關鍵貢獻者，獲得強烈的使命感。
為匡智會學員創造了 22 個穩定、長期的工作職位，為他們提供了寶貴的技能和經濟上的獨立。
在合作的第一年，團隊貢獻了超過 6,000 個工作小時，處理了數十萬個可重用餐具。
此模式的成功及其社會影響力，獲得了TVB《新聞透視》的專題報導，並向數十萬觀眾展示了一個企業如何透過將「社會賦能」置於其營運核心。
