Reusable Cups x Large Events: A New Green Economy Track

ReCube was honoured to be invited to the “Reusable Cups × Large‑Scale Events: New Green Economy Track” online salon hosted by the Break Free From Plastic initiative. The event brought together experts from across the region, including Japan’s iPledge, which worked with the Tokyo Olympic organising committee, and industry leaders from mainland China to discuss how large events can transition to greener models.

As the Hong Kong representative, we shared our hands‑on experience introducing reusable cups at marathons and large festive events. In fast‑paced environments with high crowd flow, making reuse work on the ground is a serious operational challenge.

To solve the organizers’ real pain points, ReCube has built a professional logistics and washing system designed for scale while maintaining:

  1. Strict hygiene standards, with all cups professionally washed to meet safety requirement
  2. Precise logistics and delivery, so materials arrive on time and event operations stay smooth

Cost is always a key concern when planning greener solutions. By operating at scale, ReCube works to keep costs competitive and offer truly hassle‑free rental options for organisers. In practice, we’re seeing that sustainable setups can be both convenient and economically viable.

This deep exchange with international and mainland partners strengthens our belief that plastic‑free large events are the direction of travel, not a temporary trend. ReCube is ready to support more organisers in making the shift and to help grow a greener event economy together. 🚀
